2. Florinef


Treating adrenocortical insufficiency in Addison disease and for treating salt-losing adrenogenital syndrome. Fludrocortisone is a corticosteroid. Fludrocortisone may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide. Do not stop taking fludrocortisone suddenly if you have been taking it for a few weeks.

3. Ephedrine


This belongs to the group of medicines known as nasal decongestants.It is used to treat nasal congestion (a blocked-up nose). Ephedrine relieves nasal congestion by causing the small blood vessels of the nose to become narrower. 5. Diethylpropion


Tenuate, an appetite suppressant, is prescribed for short-term use (a few weeks) as part of an overall diet plan for weight reduction. It is available in two forms: immediate-release tablets (Tenuate) and controlled-release tablets (Tenuate Dospan). It is especially important that you consult your doctor before combining Tenuate with the following: Blood pressure medications such as Ismelin Insulin Phenothiazine drugs such as the major tranquilizer Thorazine. Tenuate or Tenuate Dospan may interact with alcohol unfavorably.

6. Ionamin

You can become psychologically dependent on this drug.

8. Xenical


Xenical blocks absorption of dietary fat into the bloodstream, thereby reducing the number of calories you get from a meal. At the usual dosage level, it cuts fat absorption by almost one-third. You'll also need to avoid Xenical if it gives you an allergic reaction. Safe use of orlistat during pregnancy has not been established.

9. Sibutramine


Sibutramine affects chemicals in the body that are related to weight maintenance. Sibutramine is used as a short-term supplement to diet and exercise in the treatment of obesity. Store sibutramine at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Sibutramine.

10. Tenuate


Tenuate, an appetite suppressant, is prescribed for short-term use (a few weeks) as part of an overall diet plan for weight reduction. It is available in two forms: immediate-release tablets (Tenuate) and controlled-release tablets (Tenuate Dospan). Tenuate will lose its effectiveness within a few weeks. This drug may increase convulsions in some epileptics.

11. Orlistat


Xenical blocks absorption of dietary fat into the bloodstream, thereby reducing the number of calories you get from a meal. At the usual dosage level, it cuts fat absorption by almost one-third. Store at room temperature, in a tightly sealed container. Xenical increases the likelihood of kidney stones.
