4. Leflunomide

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you. Nevertheless, if you plan to father a child, your doctor will instruct you to stop taking Arava and will prescribe a regimen of cholestyramine to clear Arava from your system.

5. Nabumetone

6. Imuran


AZATHIOPRINE (Imuran ® ) is an immunosuppressive agent. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

7. Indocin


Indocin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, is used to relieve the inflammation, swelling, stiffness and joint pain associated with moderate or severe rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis (the most common form of arthritis), and ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis of the spine). It is also used to treat bursitis, tendinitis (acute painful shoulder), acute gouty arthritis, and other kinds of pain. Potassium-sparing diuretics (eg, spironolactone, triamterene) because the risk of kidney problems or increased blood potassium levels may be increased. 11. Naprelan

12. Azathioprine

You should have frequent checkups with your doctor if you take Ansaid regularly. Ulcers or internal bleeding can occur without warning. If you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to Ansaid, aspirin, or similar drugs such as Motrin, or if you have had asthma attacks caused by aspirin or other drugs of this type, you should not take this medication.

14. Arava

Leflunomide is used to reduce the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, reduce damage to the joints caused by rheumatoid arthritis, and to improve physical function in people with rheumatoid arthritis. Avoid alcoholic drinks while taking leflunomide. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur.

15. Indomethacin


INDOMETHACIN (Indocin®) is a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID). Indomethacin relieves the inflammation and pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout. Do not breast-feed while you are taking Indocin SR Sustained-Release Capsules. The usual dose is 50 milligrams 3 times a day until pain is reduced to a tolerable level (usually 3 to 5 days).

16. Colchicine


The exact way that colchicine works is unknown. It appears to alter your body's response to deposited uric acid crystals. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following.

You should have frequent checkups with your doctor if you take Ansaid regularly. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children. Your doctor will tailor the dose to suit your needs, but you should not take more than 100 milligrams at any one time or more than 300 milligrams in a day.

Take the pill while standing or sitting in an upright position and wash it down with a full 6 to 8 ounce glass of plain water (do not use coffee, tea, juice, milk, or other dairy products). The safety and effectiveness of risedronate has not been established in women who are nursing.

22. Valdecoxib


Valdecoxib is an oral drug that belongs to the family of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs are used primarily to treat pain and arthritis. Valdecoxib should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. NSAIDs can reduce the actions of diuretics such as furosemide (Lasix) and hydrochlorothiazide (Hydrodiuril) in some patients and lead to retention of water.
