1. Nifedipine


Procardia and Procardia XL are used to treat angina (chest pain caused by lack of oxygen to the heart due to clogged arteries or spasm of the arteries). Norpace is used to treat severe irregular heartbeat. It relaxes an overactive heart and improves the efficiency of the heart's pumping action. Norpace may cause or worsen congestive heart failure and can cause severe low blood pressure. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Norpace with the following: Clarithromycin (Biaxin) Drugs that inhibit the breakdown of other drugs by the liver, including Tagamet Erythromycin (Eryc, Ery-Tab, PCE) Other heart-regulating drugs such as quinidine (Quinidex), procainamide (Procan SR), lidocaine (Xylocaine), propranolol (Inderal), Verapamil (Calan) Phenytoin (Dilantin) Troleandomycin (Tao). 3. Neurontin


Neurontin capsules and tablets contain the active ingredient gabapentin, which is a medicine that is mainly used to treat epilepsy. (NB Gabapentin is also available without a brand name, ie as the generic medicine.) Gabapentin works by stabilising electrical activity in the brain. Treatment typically starts with a single 300-milligram dose on the first day, two 300-milligram doses on the second day, and three 300-milligram doses on the third day. 4. Nortriptyline


NORTRIPTYLINE (Pamelor®) is an antidepressant. Nortriptyline can help to lift your spirits by treating your depression. Take Pamelor exactly as prescribed. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.

5. Nabumetone


Nabumetone is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Nabumetone works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. 6. Norco


Hydrocodone is a narcotic pain-reliever and a cough suppressant, similar to codeine. The precise mechanism of pain relief by hydrocodone and other narcotics is not known. The usual dose of Vicodin is 1 or 2 tablets, up to a maximum of 8 tablets per day. Acetaminophen relieves pain by elevating the pain threshold. A severe overdose of Vicodin can be fatal.

7. Nicotine


Nicotine is the primary ingredient in tobacco products. Nicotine in medical products is used to aid in smoking cessation. This medicine passes into breast milk. Recap the bottle after each use. Use an effective form of birth control while you are using this medication.

8. Noroxin


Noroxin is an antibacterial medication used to treat infections of the urinary tract, including cystitis (inflammation of the inner lining of the bladder caused by a bacterial infection), prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate gland), and certain sexually transmitted diseases, such as gonorrhea. 9. Nevirapine


NEVIRAPINE (Viramune®) is an antiviral drug called a nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor or NNRTI. Nevirapine is used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Seek medical advice from your doctor. Nevirapine directly inhibits the activity of reverse transcriptase and blocks the production of DNA and new viruses. If you develop hepatitis during Viramune treatment, you will have to stop taking the drug.

10. Nolvadex


TAMOXIFEN (Nolvadex®) blocks the effects of estrogen hormone in the body. Tamoxifen is most commonly used to treat breast cancer in women or men. Rifampin because it may decrease Tamoxifen 's effectiveness. you are allergic to any ingredient in Tamoxifen. Nolvadex may be stored at room temperature.

11. Nimodipine


Reducing problems due to lack of oxygen caused by bleeding from a blood vessel in the brain. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Constipation can often be eased by eased by eating plenty of fibre, such as fruit, vegetables, potatoes, bran and by drinking plenty of water. Use Nimodipine as directed by your doctor. 12. Nateglinide


Starlix combats high blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes (the kind that does not require insulin shots). Insulin speeds the transfer of sugar from the bloodstream to the body's cells, where it's burned to produce energy. This may occur because of either a diminished responsiveness to the medication or a worsening of the diabetes. Speak with your doctor if any of the following symptoms continue or become troublesome. Wait until your next meal, then take your regular dose.

13. Nexium


ESOMEPRAZOLE (Nexium®) prevents the production of acid in the stomach. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), ulcers, certain bacteria in the stomach, too much acid in the stomach, and inflammation of the esophagus. For GERD, 20 or 40 mg of esomeprazole is given once daily for 4-8 weeks. Brief storage at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is permitted. 14. Naprelan


Naproxen belongs to a class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). 16. Nizoral


Nizoral, a broad-spectrum antifungal drug available in tablet form, may be given to treat several fungal infections within the body, including oral thrush and candidiasis. It may also be given to treat severe, hard-to-treat fungal skin infections that have not cleared up after treatment with creams or ointments, or the oral drug griseofulvin (Fulvicin, Grisactin). 18. Naproxen

19. Naprosyn


Naproxen belongs to a class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). 21. Nitrofurantoin

For long-term treatment, your doctor may reduce your dosage to 50 to 100 milligrams taken at bedtime. If nitrofurantoin is taken with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered.

22. Nitroglycerin


Nitroglycerin is prescribed to prevent and treat angina pectoris (suffocating chest pain). This condition occurs when the coronary arteries become constricted and are not able to carry sufficient oxygen to the heart muscle. Side effects cannot be anticipated.
